Foundation Wrestling is an approach to training developed by Nick Purler (former All-American for Oklahoma State University) in order to more effectively train his students at Purler Wrestling Academy (operating in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois).

Purler Wrestling Academy first opened its doors in November of 1999, and has since grown to become the largest and one of the most successful wrestling academies in the nation.

Since then, PWA students have been winning every major wrestling award on the youth national level and PWA high school students have been earning college wrestling scholarships at an accelerated rate with many Freshman state champs and Cadet / Junior National All-Americans each year.
